FLIGHT INSTRUCTION

Flight-Instruction

Earning your pilot’s license is one of the most rewarding experiences you will ever have. Here at Stout we have everything you need to fulfill that dream of soaring through the skies!

The FAA requires a minimum of 40 hours of flight training. The average student needs 50-55 hours to reach the proficiency to pass a check ride with the FAA. To be eligible for a license you must meet the following criteria:

  • Minimum age is 16 to "solo" and 17 to get your license.

  • The FAA requires a routine medical exam every 2-3 years.

  • You must be able to read, speak and understand English.

  • You will need to pass a written exam.

  • You will need to pass an oral and flight exam administered by the FAA.

  • Other requirements may apply if you are not a US citizen.

All pilots are required to have ground instruction, and we deliver. Ground training is done one-on-one with their flight instructor, which our experience has shown is the best way to provide thorough training. It also allows the student to progress at his or her own pace.
